Great Thai Food My husband and I have been going to Amarin for 10 years or better. Sometimes as often as 3 times a week. We both have a favorite dish -#29 on the menu, Spicy Chicken Saute'- but we ask for Green Bean Chicken because we have gotten Satay (chicken on a stick) by mistake. They do some dishes REALLY well and some only so-so. While the curries are not as good as elsewhere and their Pad Thai is okay, the Lime Prawn Soup is to die for (a tangy broth with wonderful mushrooms and prawns) and the Thai Fried Rice is light and fluffy with no greasiness to speak of (We like it with Shrimp). An excellent dish on it's own. Some of the other dishes we have become obsessed with over the years are Spicy Fried Catfish (sauce is similar to Green Bean Chicken), Himapan Pork or chicken,Moo Yang (barbecued Pork, and we often order the Yum Nur (beef salad) as a side to share. The portions are a little more than you can eat and the prices are comparable to other Thai places, about $7-9.50 an entree for dinner and $6-7.50 for lunch. At dinner you have to order rice separately as it doesn't come with the entree. There is usually not a wait and the service is good with a little language problem now and then, but very courteous and timely. I have never felt rushed or ignored in the 10 years we have been eating there. They do a large take-out business as well which is great but calling ahead with the order is highly recommended. They also have a large room upstairs for private parties and overflow business. My husband and I have come to know the owner Angel who is sweet as can be. We don't get special treatment or free food but we do get hellos and hugs goodbye which is always wonderful. [04 Jan 2006 00:43:03]
