Best Sichuan food I have seen in California This restaurant serves by far the best Sichuan food I have found in the Bay Area or California in general. Aside from possibly one or two restaurants in New York, it is also the best Sichuan food I have seen outside of China. Overall, China Village would be considered a somewhat below average but very clean restaurant if it were located in Chongqing; or an average to slightly above average Sichuan restaurant for Beijing; but it is the best of its kind by far for the Bay Area. Ants in the beverages I have to question the cleanliness of this establishment. My son ordered a soft drink, and when it arrived, he noticed ants in it! When the waiter finally returned, he took it away, then returned with a replacement. That, too, had ants! Somebody's not paying attention. [07 Oct 2003 15:43:03]

Real Sichaun This is simply the best Sichuan (or Sezchuan) food I have ever had or expect to ever have! I've been visiting every month or so for the last couple of years and they are really coming into their stride.
The menu has recently become a lot more interesting and exciting (less redneck "pineapple chicken balls in dayglo red sauce" dishes) and this is a trend I hope they continue. [13 Jan 2005 23:50:16]
