Great Food, Questionable Service
I really enjoy the food. I have tried a variety of menu items, such as the Monte Cristo Sandwich, the Macaroni and Cheese, and the Roadside Huevos. All the food was excellent. However, I was disappointed in our service. The waitress who helped us each time was a young girl. She messed up my order every time. She took it back and had it fixed, but when it happens every time I visit, it makes me want to take my business elsewhere. Her uniform was very dirty, and she was quite careless about bending over while wearing a short dress. My drink was empty for at least 15 minutes before she offered a refill. I hope that management will remedy the problem. With better service, the restaurant would be excellent.    [24 Mar 2004 21:37:02]

Leaves the Others in the Dust
I have been to the Diner on Main several times, each time ordering a different item. Each time I have not been disappointed, quite the contrary. The first time I went, I had the tuna melt, which was very different from most tuna melts I have had at various other places. That is typically what I order at a new place to see how good they are. If You Want to Have a Good Time
This is one restaurant that I wish was a chain; everyone needs to have an experience at this restaurant just once. The food was fantastic and the energy, with the customers, the staff and the music, is wonderful. I live in San Pedro and this is quite a drive just for dinner, but I will continue to go there on special occasions for a long time and bring friends. Service Not Good
Our waiter left for a personal reason but the management did not come to tell us who would help us. We were left there with no service at all. Then when we pointed this error out, the management acted rude to us in their tone and response. We have had bad service before, but thought it was a one-time thing. Questionable Service
I wanted to try Diner on Main on a Sunday morning for brunch. My fiancé and I patiently waited to put our name down. We were overlooked three times by the two workers manning the front. They were extremely unfriendly, not to mention rude. Their front staff should take a course in customer service. We left and ate somewhere else.    [30 Oct 2006 06:50:51]
