Great Garlic Bread
Di Napolis is hidden away in an aging strip mall on East Main Street near I-15 in Barstow. Nevertheless, it seems to have no problem competing with the touristy Barstow Mall clip joints or the usual standard franchise fare.

There's a good reason. Once inside, you get a clean, well designed "rustic" ambience with a typically tasteless hint of neon. Service is friendly, prompt, and effective.

There will be few surprises with the food: there are no risks, but no also mistakes. What you get is solid, decent quality in Italian food at very reasonable prices, a comfortable time, and you won't leave hungry.

The garlic bread, though, is terrific. Not in some special way, but because it is not special at all: it's just really, really good. And that's hard to find anywhere these days.    [14 Oct 2006 22:25:37]
