Their days are over
OK, Benihana as many of you may know is not real Japanese food at all. Most Japanese whom I spoke to don't even know what to make out of the food Benihana offers. People there know about this restaurant simply because it as been featured as a successful restaurant masterminded by Rocky Aoki (a Japanese national). Otherwise they don't care for that type of greasy food. I think their days are over and their non-innovative theme of some Asian looking chef clonking on the metal pan is simply just not fun anymore and their butter based stir fry is just disgusting.    [02 Jun 2003 17:55:10]

Never Gets Old
This is my favorite restaurant. Sure, it isn't authentic Japanese food, but the ambience is more Japanese. Some times the performances of the chefs suck but sometimes they are fun. It is all what YOU make of the experience. The chef also feeds off your energy. So, if you are a party pooper, the chef might not be as outgoing and spontaneous. My advise is make every trick a big deal and the chef will do even more daring stunts and tricks. Like I said, the food is not authentic Japanese, but whatever the food is, it is GREAT. Probably the best filet mignon I've had, the best salad, and one of my favorite soups.    [10 Aug 2006 21:26:45]
