Description



Executive Chef RaShon Jones and Sous Chef Elias Vaca -- the team that formally ran the restaurant at Barney's New York -- have created a menu that features American cuisine, using California ingredients. For example, the meatloaf with mushroom gravy topped with seasonal vegetables and the striped bass over steamed rice with pea (shoots) and carrots. And the surf and turf is fresh lobster sauteed with garlic, white wine and butter served with a fillet of grilled ahi on mashed Yukon Gold potatoes with steamed baby green beans.

My Current Favorite LA Restaurant.
It's totally hip and the midcentury modern architecture make this a can't miss place. Actually, I probably should say it's terrible so you don't come here and take up a table. Dining is poolside and you can ask for a private cabana. Very quite and relaxing!

The food was wonderful and flavorful. Blue on Blue has an extensive martini menu and mine were perectly prepared.

The first time I arrived here, it was just before closing but I was greeted warmly, and seated without a fuss. I was not made to feel rushed.    [27 Apr 2006 21:23:07]
