Big Disappointment
I went to the restaurant a while back with people from my running club and I think most of us were disappointed with the food. I had ordered the French toast and I swear it was so thin you could almost see through it and to make matters worse, the bread was stale. Needless to say, I never have gone back since that time and don't plan on it. Their lunch and dinner meals might be fine but I wouldn't go back to try it.    [06 Oct 2004 17:00:01]

french toast at murrietas? COme on, try the salsa!!
As a Bonita native, I've been to Murrieta's many times and have enjoyed their green and red salsa on many occasions. My family has an ongoing battle over which is better: green or red. The service is usually fairly slow, but the food (enchiladas suizas, carne asada fajitas) keeps us coming back. Good food, eh service, GREAT salsa.    [09 Aug 2005 04:49:28]

Best around
I am a Bonita native and believe that Murrieta's is the BEST around. I had dreams about eating the salsa when I was pregnant and living in San Jose. I came back to Bonita just to eat there! As for French toast, I am not sure they have it. There is now another Murrieta's in the South bay (no connection to this fine establishment) that might confuse people.    [20 Jan 2006 18:42:51]

Live in the Neighborhood
The food is passable, not special. The restaurant is average for ambiance. Would not go out of my way to eat there. There are many better Mexican food places in the area.    [17 Jan 2007 01:17:33]
