Needs a NEW Manager My partner Keith and I tried to have a breakfast/lunch at the Coco’s located at 259 W. Ventura Blvd. Camarillo, CA 93010 [(805) 987-3534] today at approximately 11:05 AM. When arriving I was told it would be 15 to 20 minutes to be seated. We were seated by 11:25AM, and as is the case for myself, I noted all vacant tables in my vicinity. Our waitress took our drink orders first, along with 4 other tables, some that had arrived just before we were seated, but had been lucky enough to be seated quicker.
We noted that we waited 10 minutes for our drinks and that other tables sat long after ours, and with different waiters, were getting drinks served. When she did bring our drinks it was minus the coffee (because they were making fresh – excuse given). We then noted that one couple that arrived after we had sat down were getting refresh on their coffee and we had not even been served ours. Following this it was another 5 minutes until we gave our orders. That was between 11:40 and 11:45. The waitress took orders from 4 tables including the couple getting refresh on coffee. At about 12:00 the orders started arriving to the other tables she had taken orders from, but nothing for us (oh, we had ordered a Cob Salad and one of the breakfast specials).
At 12:15 I started to complain to the manager. He apologized, but it was very insincere. At 12:25 we left as my partner had a 12:30 appointment. I stopped and expressed my displeasure to the manager, and he didn’t even look up. At least he could have provided a coupon for some sort of compensation.
At home we do not go to these chain types of restaurants often as we prefer the mom and pop types that give a person down home service. This experience will ensure we don’t go to a Coco’s for a long time. Keith and I are very experienced travelers though, owning a motor home and we travel the country. Then we do stop more frequently because they are the type on the roadways. You can be assured we will not stop at a Coco’s then either. [26 Nov 2006 14:03:24]
