No salt air tang, no seagulls, but Hawgs Seafood Bar in Campbell still cuts the muster as an old-school seafood joint. - CitySearch - suggest change

Unpleasant Experience The food was great as ususal; however I did not feel the attention as a customer was optimal. It started when we walked in and there were several people waiting. Since they do not take a list it causes the customer to become very territorial lest they be lost in the shuffle. Even though the busy period is probably only an hour or so, it would be much more civilized if they took names and called people in order. While we waited 2 parties were lost in the shuffle and one party who seemed to be known to the establishment were seated before those of us who were waiting. When it came to our turn we had to intervene to tell the hostess we were next for the counter. When I inquired why they do not take a list I was put down for even asking such a question and told customers just have to deal with it. I love the food here and it was our 44th wedding anniversary and we could have afforded to go anywhere in the valley. I was disappointed in the way the evening turned out, not because of the food but because of the service. I believe the person who waited on us was one of the owners so I guess there is nowhere to go from here. I will problably not go back which makes me sad as I will miss the well prepared delicious food. P.S. This is not the first time my husband and I have experienced being left in the dust when being seated at this restaurant. [19 Jun 2003 23:23:32]
