Best Chinese in the Area
Locals know China Star has been the favorite Chinese spot in the area for years. However, a recent change of ownership resulted in poor service, bad food, and an unclean restaurant. I received a menu in the mail for a Captain K.J. restaurant with the same address as my beloved China Star. I decided to check it out and was astonished to see the interior had been completely updated, featuring an awesome bar area and modern furnishings. The old China Star is back; or shall I say the new Captain K.J. has arrived. The food is as excellent as it ever was, and the staff is friendly and excellent. I was happy to learn that the owner is a waiter from the old fabulous China Star. I recommend the honey walnut shrimp, the garlic butter shrimp, assorted wonton soup, and Kung Pao chicken. Also, the lunch time combination meals are a great deal, with soup, salad, rice, and main course from $6.99-7.99.    [20 May 2008 22:09:19]
