Lose the Attitude! Look, the restaurant scores an 8 out of 10. Which would be fine -– especially for Claremont -– except that it has pretensions to being a 9, and it charges as if it were a 10.
I was particularly peeved when I ordered the lettuce wedge salad and asked to have it without the pancetta. I was told that the chef won’t serve anything differently from the description on the menu (even though the well-intentioned server admitted that it would be easy to just take the pancetta off).
Okay. Except that I don’t go back to restaurants that are run for the chef’s ego instead of the customers’ enjoyment.
As to the rest of the meal: scrumptious raisin bread; lame iceberg salad, with Hellman’s-flavored dressing; boring salmon, with overly salted succotash; practically perfect “smothered buffalo,” with teasingly salty crust; outstanding trout; and wimpy, tiny portions of elk. The cheese plate was delicious, but I had to ask for bread to go with it. [05 Sep 2007 00:30:35]

Fabulous New Restaurant in Town I have eaten there on several occasions and found the food to be fabulous -- the buffalo is to die for. The desserts are outstanding, and most of all the chef is very willing to accommodate the customer, contrary to what I have seen in other blogs that he has "attitude." He is there for the customer and to produce high-quality, fresh food. [09 Oct 2007 16:59:06]

Three Forks is Amazing Having been to Three Forks in Claremont three times now, I am compelled to write about how wonderful it is. First of all, the room is warm and relaxing and absolutely beautiful. The food is arguably the best I've eaten anywhere in the world (my aunt and uncle, who have residences in Laguna Beach, Manhattan and Boca Raton, agreed).
The buffalo, the elk, and the wild boar were all exquisite in presentation and flavor profile. Chef Eric Osley is wildly creative and clearly understands meat. I can't wait to go back. [12 Oct 2007 12:48:01]

This new addition to Claremont's Village serves exceptional food -- specializing in wild game entrees. Very pricey, but a beautiful space in a renovated citrus packing house. [12 Oct 2007 19:28:39]
