Best Live Jazz Place Okay, if you're looking to unwind and have your drink of choice, this is the place! There were steak, sausage, veggies and AWESOME SAUCES to go with your dinner. You have to try the chipotle sauce and the Asian peanut sauce. But please be AWARE that the service is NOT GOOD AT ALL!!! It took me 20 minutes to get my drink from the bar, and my waiter was drunk!!! She smelled like cheap perfume and a mix of cigarettes and vodka! And when our food was done, I got up and went to the bar to ask for another drink, and that was also bad service. The bartender was a white guy with fake glasses and the waiter was a short chubby white girl. But don't let this discourage you from going. The sauces that accompany the dishes are well worth it. A little note of advice: Ask to be seated in Frey or Danilla's section. They recommend great combinations and great service!!! Order the large salad with nuts and pears! [20 Mar 2008 22:34:12]

Great Place to Unwind The Hip Kitty is a small, yet swanky hangout in the new Village West. The ambiance makes it a stand out restaurant. The fondue is just marvelous. You have to try the Manchego (spicy and not too garlicky). The meat dipping sauces were fresh and scrumptious. The salads were a nice touch, as well; too bad they didn't have a few more dressing to choose from. The wait staff was very friendly, helpful and funny. Our server, Anthony, made sure all of our needs were met and went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied. And it was also great that he was energetic and funny!!! The music was superb. The Wednesday jam session is great and a lot of fun! I will be back soon!!! [19 Apr 2008 13:02:30]

Bugs in Drinks! Lipstick on Glass! HORRIBLE Service! I really WANTED to like the Hip Kitty. I love the whole kitschy early 60's fondue thing. The patio is lovely and the decor inside is fun. Nice lighting and nice booths . . . that's ALL the nice things I can say.
First of all, we (a party of four) were seated at a table so squished up against other people that the waitress and I were bumping elbows all night and I couldn't even get up without disturbing at least three people in the process. And we had a reservation!
Next, the fondue. Or as we called it, the "fon-don't." While the taste was okay (nothin' to write home about), it was ridiculously expensive for what you were getting. NOT a meal, more like an appetizer that should've cost half as much.
The service was TERRIBLE. Our waitress brought a drink roughly 30 minutes after we'd ordered it. There was almost NO checking back with us to see if we needed anything else. Her attitude was like she was put out to have to serve us!
BUT THE WORST: My girlfriend had lipstick on her glass! Disgusting and unsanitary. AND she ordered a drink and there was a bug in it! Being of pretty good humor, she ordered another, and THAT one had a bug in it too!
Hip Kitty should be avoided if you're looking to protect your health and your wallet! [11 Aug 2008 17:21:50]
