Generic Family Style Italian
Went here with a group of 16 people at the beginning of the dinner hour.

Well it's kinda like Buca di Beppo but it's not as well figured out. You pick a dish and get a choice of two family style pastas. They didn't have lasagna so they lost a star there easy. It's all you can eat of the pasta and salad, but that doesn't get them many points.

The salad is simple and boring. The pasta dishes are either marinara sauce or Alfredo sauce on rigatoni noodles. They nearly left out all the accompanying chicken and whatnot in the pasta dishes.

Price was about $25 per person which is really high for Clovis. I wouldn't recommend this place to someone I liked or to groups.    [04 Feb 2007 23:31:03]

Don't question the chef!
Recently we visited this restaurant and I ordered a fillet mignon and specified I liked my meat done rare. It came with a hard black crust on it. I reminded the waitress of my order and she took it to the back. Out came the chef/owner stomping accross the restaurant with my plate and a sharp knife. After loudly placing my plate on the table he shouted "This is charred rare. This steak is cooked to perfection." Everyone is the restaurant was of course staring. I again repeated my order and told him I had not ordered "Charred anything!" He then stomped off to confront the waitress. After confirming that I had not ordered "Charred meat" he then stomped back to the kitchen. While my meal was taken off the bill he never came out to apologize for his mistake or to say he was sorry for creating a scene in front of the whole restaurant. The real pity is that this was a place that we had really grown to love!    [21 Feb 2007 12:42:47]

Loved it!
My husband and I found this restaurant while out and about one day. We loved the "family" atmosphere, and the food is truly wonderful. They have authentic Italian pasta dishes, with your choice of entree, so a group would be able to choose various pasta dishes for their meal.

They give you more than your regular lettuce-only "house salad," and their desserts are delicious.    [21 Feb 2007 13:14:20]

Good Experience/Good Food
My family, friends and I have eaten at Goodfella's on 3 occasions, and each time has been a pleasure. The menu is varied, the prices are slightly higher than some Italian restaurants in town, but you get value for your money in the the quantity and quality of the food. I believe the (2)pasta dinner is around $12 and the entrees $4 to $6 dollars more. The menu contains ala carte items, appetizers, pasta dishes plus two "nightly pasta specials", and entree items which include steak, lamb shanks, chicken, etc. The lamb shanks were excellent. Whether you order the Pasta meal (2 pastas) or an entree item, each dinner is served with family style (and all you can eat) fresh green salad, fresh summer salad, a cup of tasty soup, and bread. The desserts are wonderful (no spumoni however), and there is wine and beer at the bar or served at the table.

The wait staff has been very friendly and helpful, and the food has been cooked to order. I was surprised and sorry to read that two patron's were unhappy with the service and food, I would recommend they not let a single unhappy experience prevent them from giving the restaurant another chance. Also a plus as far as I am concerned is the general population has yet to discover Goodfella's so our family/friends have not had to wait for a table. I also like the fact that there are a number of round tables that seat 8-10 people, and the tables are not crowded together ~ good for conversation.    [12 Mar 2007 23:07:28]

A GREAT Place!
We went to Goodfellas because another restaurant had a very long wait on a Friday night in Clovis. What a great way to discover such a wonderful place! The staff, food and overall experience was flawless!
When we left my son asked if we could go there to eat every single day for the rest of our lives!
I highly suggest you give them a try!

Kids eat free too!    [12 Apr 2007 18:00:43]
