Bueno I've only been here once, and tried a dish that's new to me, so I can't vouch for its 'authenticity'. I tried chilaquiles, which is corn tortilla pieces cooked in and served with a spicy sauce, topped with a Mexican white cheese. The waitress said they were very spicy, so I ordered the mild version, which definitely wasn't mild. Don't know if that was miscommunication between the server and the cook, or if I have wimpy tastebuds.
It came with delicious Ranch potatoes, skillet fried, with green peppers and onions. Also on the plate was a helping of very edible refried beans.
My dining companion ordered the chile verde plate, with a decent-sized helping of meat, a lot of rice, and refried beans. He said the meat was very good; 8 on a 10 scale.
Both dishes come with choice of corn or flour tortillas. The flour tortillas didn't appear to be homemade but were warm and lightly grilled.
Service was pleasant and efficient. As I'm writing this review, I'm suddenly craving a return trip, so yes, I would recommend Paulita's. [28 Jan 2007 18:21:40]
