Thanks Thanks for passing up on our $60 gift certificate that expired four days prior to our wanting to dine there. One of the owners was very unflexible in extending the invitation to me and my wife, thus I was not allowed to eat there for a belated anniversary gift. So I can't really tell you about the food, but I can tell you about the unprofessionalism. Again, thanks Trelio... [19 Aug 2000 20:37:54]

The best in the valley After reading the previous review I had to try them. The first that my guest noticed was how friendly the staff was from when we first entered, through out the evening. The chef came out to our table and talk about the food. They are very knowlegable about food and wine. The food was excellent and the best wine list I HAVE SEEN. As far as the gift certificate problem we were told that it had EXPIRED. We have been going back every week, sometimes twice in a week. My wife and I travel throughout the country and TRELIO is by far one of the top dining spouts. Please try them and see for yourself. [11 Apr 2002 11:32:22]

Two thumbs down After spending $120, my wife and I were extremely disappointed at our dining experience at Trelio. From the start of the experience when we called to make a reservation for 6pm, the hostess told us that she only had reservations available for 7pm making us excited at the prospect that this was a busy restaurant. When we arrived at 6:40 pm, the restaurant, which had only 10 tables, was half empty and remained half empty through out the evening. Upon walking in, we knew we were in trouble when the decor resembled a late seventies discoteque. Once we sat down, our disappointment continued when we read the menu. With only 10 items total including appetizers, the choices were far from contemporary cuisine. We felt like we were sitting in an upscale Sizzlers. The only thing special about the Chef's Special was the price ($36 for a fillet and mashed potatoes with jarred artichoke hearts). All the dishes that we noticed coming out of the kitchen had a mound of mashed potatoes as the center piece of the plate(A FAR CRY FROM CONTEMPORARY CUISINE). My wife and I were originally from Chicago where contemporary cuisine means new flavors and ideas in cuisine. We might as well have gone to the Outback for a third of the price for steak and mashed potatoes. To add insult to injury, the restaurant did not have its own restroom. You had to go ask for a key to use the shared restroom facility of the business complex located outside of the restaurant. That made us feel as if we were at a gas station. We will NOT be doing repeat business nor will we recommend this restaurant to anyone. Can we sue for false advertisement? [05 Oct 2003 19:22:21]

A great find I have been to Trelio several times and have NEVER been disappointed. Not only is the service wonderful, but the food is definitely out of the ordinary and interesting. I have never eaten something I didn't like. The owners aren't your normal sugary sweet, overbearing waiters; they actually care about you and your dining experience. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys excellent food, a quiet and personal dinner and a great find in the area. As far as the other negative reviews, I think the class of Trelio must have superceded their own personal style. [24 Nov 2003 18:25:37]

Culinary Delight Well, I'll break the tie here and say that this has been one of our favorite dining spots for the past four years.
We were just there on Fri. night and had an excellent meal. I had the clam chowder to start and it was perfect. My husband had a salad that he said was very good. My entree was the mahi mahi that was cooked to perfection with sides of garlic mashed potatoes (at my request) and thinkly sliced carrots that had a taste of cinammon to them. My husband had a chicken entree that he said was outstanding.
We have also given gift certificates to clients and family for special occasions and they have yet to be disappointed. This is the true dining gem on this area, I would say only Erna's Elderberry House (a five-star establishment) would be above it.
I'm hoping that the posters here that were disappointed would give Trelio's another try. The service has always been above and beyond the call of duty. Our servers chat with us about the wines and even the Riedel glasses. We chose to share a glass of Napa Valley Riesling that was also excellent.
For dessert we shared a chocolate lava cake which was a warm chocolate cake with a center of chocolate syrup served with vanilla bean ice cream.
When I crave a fine dining experience (we frequent Napa a lot) we head straight to Trelio's for our fine dining, romantic evening restaurant.
My husband has also brought my daughter here on dessert-dates after their father-daughter dances when she was in elementary school. I love this place and will continue to recommend it to anyone seeking excellent food, attentive service and a romantic atmosphere. Dinner for two was just under $100 and worth every penny!!! What are you waiting for?? I recently had dinner at Trelio for my wedding anniversary. The food was terrific, it rivals San Francisco cuisine and the service was flawless!! I know that the ownership recently changed hands and they are doing a terrific job. What are you waiting for? Go there now!I would recommend this restaurant to everyone!! [23 Aug 2005 18:41:47]

Surpisingly Nice Lunch After reading mixed reviews of Trelios, it was with some trepidation that I took my son there for a graduation lunch in between grad. rehearsal and the actual ceremony in June. First of all the food was fantasic, my son had fresh salmon and I had a petite filet of beef. Both entrees were finished off quite nicely and the side dishes were tasty and complimentary. I have only two negatives ( well maybe three ): 1) interior painting is garish and sloppy. I recommend a professional job with more attractive colors, 2) very young and inexperienced waitress asked, "Are you still working on that" rather than just politely ask if she could remove my plate, 3) patron at next table talked loudly on his cell phone several times during my meal. Great Food and Service! Trelio has new owners and the food and wine is fantastic! Very friendly service with a visit from the executive chef/owner. The filet mignon is excellent! You will find this to be a nice place for special occasions as well as weekly visits. Lunch is very reasonable, e.g. hamburger 7.95 with salad or soup. Much better than the local RR. You will enjoy yourelf in a relaxed atmosphere. We are there every week. Give this establishment a try! [06 Jan 2006 15:59:51]

Under New Management The previous owners of Trelio's sold it to one of their chefs last year, so the horrible management is no more! The food is excellent in every respect, the service on par with the food, and the chef/owner often comes out from the kitchen to greet the diners. He's friendly and knowledgable. The menu has about eight appetizers, approx. 10 entrees and several desserts. The wine list seems to be very good. The decor is funky urban bistro, but still comfortable. [26 Jan 2006 21:10:47]
