Good Sushi, Good Price With chefs Goro and Hiro in the lead, the quality at Ango Tei is amongst the best of sushi bars in the area, and this is an area that likes its sushi. It is very hard to find another sushi bar where a shrimp boat or crunchy roll is made as well as here, where in fact, both were invented years back. Traditional nigiri are also spot on.
Ordering a la carte, the same meal here costs roughly three fourths of what it does for similar quality in nearby Newport Beach. But the establishment is small, and that means we can't all eat at Ango Tei. One hour waits are common for dinner time, even on weekdays. Show early. As usual, the sushi is the best at the bar, and the service is the best if you can sit with the head chef. [06 Feb 2006 20:49:50]
