One really goes into Jerry's wanting to give it a great review. This is a New York Jewish Deli on steroids. There is a great menu here with nothing missing, including New York deli prices.
Alas, the excitement ends when the food arrives. One can eat here 20 times, ordering a different menu item each time and still be brought to a new level of disappointment. The food is never prepared right. The helpings are so huge that one ponders whether the cooks are forced to give so much to each patron that it is impossible to cook it right. Is it a step above Denny's? Yes. Is the atmosphere great? Yes, lots of fun. But one eventually has to get to the food, and Jerry's just misses the mark by a long shot.    [10 Sep 2000 21:18:22]
