What is it about a Puck restaurant which says overdone? Maybe it's because there seems to be one on every block. However, it really doesn't matter. Surprisingly, Puck Cafe really does a nice job at California Cuisine. Fresh salads, meats and pastas are very refreshing here. It is impossible to find the menu anywhere else which makes the experience unique and enjoyable. Service has been excellent consistently. Always there, but never intrusive, which is really service at its best. The only shortcoming with Puck is a visit here is like Deja Vu all over again (and again, and again) as there seems to be more Pucks on restaurant rows than in hockey rinks these days.    [10 Sep 2000 21:10:10]
