I have eaten there on numerous occasions. One of the perks were birthdays. Well, their one salvation has deemed exceptionally disappointing. Going with that one expectation, the end result was pure disappointment. The policy has been changed. No more free birthday dinners. They give a certificate to be used within 3 months used for dinner only. The birthday person still has to go in on their birthday and return later. What a cheap scam. No more lobster, a dwindling selection of hot foods. Basically a visit worth remembering and not to be repeated. Oh and by the way, the traveling circus could not be bothered to even sing "Happy Birthday".    [28 Jul 2003 13:42:08]

No Free Birthday
I went a couple of times to Todai. The reason is that the price is quite expensive after you add tip and taxes. It is a $35 dinner meal, kind of expensive for the service (self-service) and environment (fast food look). Anyways, I was planning of going with my family to celebrate my Birthday. We are a party of 5...but after looking at the "no Birthday meal." I changed my mind. For the same price, we decided to go to a nice and elegant Italian restaurant.    [06 Oct 2003 18:47:45]

No More Free Birthday
I wanted to bring my wife for her birthday to Todai - she loves seafood and buffets. Not a good idea: turns out they cancelled the free birthday meal policy and only let us know at the end of the meal. What good is a promotion if it totally turns off the customer? They scammed us of a meal, but they lost two customers - quite a good idea indeed!    [22 Nov 2003 20:18:03]

Lame new policy
I have gone to Todai on my birthday twice before and I was going to go today with my husband and friends. I am so glad to have read this new lame policy. That is so cheap and dishonest I will never go back again. Thanks to all who wrote! Guess they'll be losing more than just a couple customers!    [01 Feb 2007 14:59:28]

Lame Birthday Policy Change
Glad I called before going and knew about this policy change. I'm not going now. It's already expensive, and I hate for my friends to pay for me on my birthday without the free meal.    [27 Nov 2007 15:07:20]
