Authentic
We've been there several times and have always enjoyed the food.

The pastelillos are tasty and, unlike other places, have plenty of the well-seasoned ground beef filling. The habichuelas, or beans, are delicious, as well as the maduros (sweet, fried plantains) and the tostones (green, not sweet, fried plaintains). Two pastelillos, a side of habichuelas, some maduros, and a side of sliced avocado along with a Goya coconut soda make for a delicious and filling meal.

There are plenty of other dishes worth trying, like the pernil, or roast pork, the pasteles, or Puerto Rican tamales and the arroz con gandules, or rice with pigeon peas, but my favorites are the pastelillos.    [29 May 2007 02:57:15]

Great Food
The food is the best Puerto Rican food in California. It's like eating grandmother's food.    [22 Sep 2007 15:03:30]

Almost Like My Grandma's Food
Ever since we found it, we can't get enough. My kids travel to play softball, and when we play down in the area, they ask if we can go. It's almost like a treat for them, even though I cook a lot of the food they eat, they're just not there as often as they would like with such busy travel schedules. I recommend it to all the Boricuas I know . . .    [03 Nov 2007 00:19:59]
