Disappointed in Masala I was very disappointed by my first visit to Masala on 2/14/04. My daughter and I were greeted by Kenny (one of the restaurant’s owners) and seated at a table which I found undesirable. When I asked for another table Mr. Kenny informed me that all other tables were reserved. At the time less than half of all tables were occupied, and I could see no “Reserved” signs on any of the unoccupied tables. When I politely asked again to be moved to another table, I was told in no uncertain terms that it was not possible and that we didn’t have to stay if we didn’t like it.
This made us feel very unwelcome and we immediately left the restaurant without ordering anything. I had heard good things about Masala’s food and service, and was highly disappointed by this visit. In my extensive dining experience, be it at the fine restaurants in Danville, elsewhere in the Bay Area, nationwide, or internationally, I have yet to come across a situation when a patron could not be reseated in a half-full restaurant. I have dined in the finest restaurants in New Delhi, India, and I regret to say that on this occasion Masala did not do justice to the well-known hospitality of Indian restaurants.
Our reservation was for 5:30 pm on Saturday, February 14, 2004, and we arrived at the restaurant on time. We made the reservation 2.5 hours ahead of time and received a call from Masala that it was confirmed.
For the record, while this was my first visit to Masala, my wife and daughters had dined there in the past and were treated with utmost hospitality. This made my experience at Masala especially puzzling. [22 Feb 2004 13:12:13]

Disappointed We went with a group of 8 to lunch and found the atmosphere pretty nice, but the music a bit too loud. Foodwise, the buffet was small and very bland. I prefer much spicier dishes. The samosas were a bit dry. [08 Nov 2005 16:09:30]

Amazing! When I was first invited to a dinner at Masala, I was a little bit skeptical. It was my first time at an Indian restaurant, and I have to say that I was a little nervous. However, I have never craved going back to a restaurant more than I craved Masala!! Amazing service was matched by amazing food and much more. I would definitely recommend Masala to anybody who is even vaguely interested, it is amazing! [27 Jan 2006 23:18:41]

Roasted Quail Is A Winner. I enjoyed this appetizer so much that on my next visit I will ask for a double order and have it as my entree. The food is delicious at Masala. [24 May 2006 19:21:46]

Best in the Tri-Valley We absolutely love Masala Indian Fusion in Danville. The food is a culinary masterpiece in both taste and visual content. The owners and staff are always warm, personable and attentive. We have never had less than a perfect meal. [30 Jun 2006 00:27:03]
