Thick Gloppy Gravy The borscht was uniquely wonderful. Everything we had afterwards was a bit on the heavy side, however.
Many of their dishes are similar - overcooked meats in thick, gloppy gravy, served with a big dumpling. [20 Jan 2001 20:29:09]

The Best Food in Davis Little Prague simply has the best food in Davis - if you like Central European food, you'll love it. I've been many times, and the service has usually been professional. That being said, some of the waitstaff are college students who don't look upon waiting tables as a "real job." Avoid their tables.
The beer selection is quite good, and the pastries are delightful, featuring many European-style favorites. The sausages are swell, but I'd suggest the goulash or the pork. Yes, there are many overcooked meats, but that's the style of food. The gravies are wonderful. If you don't like filling food, or food that's cooked, there are a number of sushi options in town. If you do want something a little lighter, try the soup - they are all good. Simply put, this little place would do well in New York, San Fran or Chicago. To get better Czech, you'd have to actually go to Prague. Davis is lucky to have it. [02 Dec 2003 14:48:33]

The Best from Europe Great food, great desserts, good European beer selection, full bar with Becherovka.
We enjoy the experience. [08 Mar 2008 23:41:51]

A Total Disappointment This place was unbelievably bad. The food was mediocre, the prices were (way) too high, and the service was poor. But best of all, after the mediocre food and lousy service, they automatically added a 15% tip to the price. I’m not making this up. It was already added to the bill. It’s a great strategy, since I’m sure most people want to leave $0 as a tip.
We ate on a Sunday, when they have their “holiday” brunch menu. What a total rip-off. A flat rate of $25 dollars per person. That’s fine, as long as the food is worth it. Which it wasn’t. When we saw the menu, we quickly realized that the restaurant took ordinary and mediocre brunch food (worth $10) and jacked up the price to $25. It was ludicrous. For example, they had Eggs Benedict on the “holiday” menu. (Why? Is it related to Czechoslovakia? No.) This exact same dish is $9.25 on their ordinary lunch menu. But on the “holiday” menu, the price is $25. Again, a complete and total rip-off. [11 May 2008 23:25:56]
