We stopped in for an anniversary dinner last week without reservations and were pleasantly surprised at the upscale decor, warm ambiance, and great service we received from the moment we walked in the door.
We each had filet mignon that was prepared perfectly, but the dessert really blew us away. It was fabulous! We are going back this weekend for a birthday dinner and are taking friends to share with them this gem of a restaurant! [05 Oct 2006 01:15:39]

Upscale and Original in Elk Grove Every detail has been seen to here from the decor to the presentation of food, variety on the menu. Located in an old house on the boulevard, you enter to a warmly lit lounge area with a wine bar. You are greeted by the hostess/owner. The dining room is small but you don't sit on top of each other. It's all very tastefully done. The menu is varied with appetizers, soups, salads, for the main entree there was filet mignon, a chicken dish, fish, pasta and pork chop. Something for everyone. I had the lobster and crab fettucini that was out of this world, great white sauce! For dessert we had apple strudel w/ homemade vanilla bean ice cream and homemade caramel sauce. Fantastic without being overly sweet. All food is made on the premises, hence the smaller menu. Will definitely go back. My husband said it was the best meal he has ever eaten in Elk Grove. Best Restaurant in Elk Grove!!! My fiancé and I went to this restaurant last night and were highly impressed! This is one of my favorite restaurants now. They rank up there with Ruth's Chris & The Melting Pot. I would even say higher ;)
In my opinion there are not very many "nice" restaurants in the Sacramento area. So it is nice to have something only a few miles away. We even had the opportunity to meet the owners and they are both very nice. It is by far the best restaurant in Elk Grove.
We even tried the dessert. We had the pumpkin crème Brule and it was perfect.
Everything was perfect, the mood, the lighting, the wine selection, the service, the food and the dessert. They score a 10! [25 Oct 2006 23:57:11]

Make a Point of Eating at Boulevard Bistro I just had the most incredible meal at Boulevard Bistro in Elk Grove. From the greeting by co-owner Debbie to the service, atmosphere, music, food, dessert and just the whole experience, it was superb!
I was equally impressed with Chef Dennis coming out and offering a few tips on how to cook the best Filet Mignon! You'll have to join them for dinner to hear his tips.
Superb, can't wait to come back to the Elk Grove area for dinner again at Boulevard Bistro! [20 Jun 2007 00:15:09]

Going Downhill Quickly Once a really friendly place to eat, with a great staff; not sure what's going on there, but it really shows in the attitudes of the staff from the moment you walk through the door. The food not once what it was, and the desserts, which were to die for, are just average now. Save your cash, eat at Burger King!!!! [21 Nov 2007 09:22:41]

Bistro for Lunch! Can't be beat, without going to the Bay Area or Central Coast . . . even then, this would still be my all-state favorite.
This chef can make a simple New York steak mouthwateringly delectable: the absolute best steak I've ever tasted. Their French fries are gourmet adult food, not greasy. Fresh baked French bread imported from S.F. daily, and an excellent wine list. Try the pork with dried cherry sauce, or one of the many seasonal specials. You will not be disappointed. Affordable too, especially at lunch. Thanks to this very capable couple for locating in Elk Grove. We feel so fortunate to have them! [08 Jan 2008 22:29:17]
