Fremont's Gem Small, casual restaurant. Great food. Kind of eclectic decor. Great food. Servers were friendly and knowledgable. Great food. [09 Dec 2004 22:10:32]

Great Dining Experience. Pearl's Cafe is in the Irvington Disttrict, close to the 5 corners monument that says "Welcome to Irvington". The first thing that you see is that it is really a house that was repurposed as a restaurant. Several of the businesses on Bay street are like this. You can dine inside or out under the covered patio area, the backyard. I recommend going to the back.
The food is excellent but the menu changes with the season, so what you order today may not be offered in a few months. Pearl's uses locally grown produce, like vegetables from Perry Farms (Ardenwood Forest), and coffee from Mission Coffees and Roasting.
Our server, Jeff was most excellent in recommending dishes and explaining them to us. He was quick and courteous as well. My dining buddy's substitutions and changes of mind (3 times!) didn't faze him.
Pearl's is a great place to eat. [15 Feb 2005 13:34:42]

Pearls Really is a Gem Inventive, fresh seasonal cuisine. My lamb was awesome and my friend loved her NY steak. [16 Mar 2005 04:32:14]
