Beagle says...
"Well, here we are again." This might be a great "true" advertising campaign for Chili's Grill and Bar. Completely predictable. This is Southwestern food for the completely timid. There is nothing too spicy, nothing too bold and nothing really memorable about the food. Service is as close as one can get to fast food without a drive thru window. The waiters and waitresses get your order quick and drop it off on the run. If you're really (un)fortunate in Fresno you'll get Jenny as your waitress who is outright rude, dropping off your dishes with a bang on the table and ignoring your requests. The atmosphere is predictable and loud, the service bordering on non-existent and the food truly forgettable, so why go at all? The service is not great
It was my first time there. I told the server and she acted like it was nothing. Then to top it off she did absolutely nothing.

Someone else brought the food and by the time we stopped someone else to get the fries that were supposed to come with the meal, the sandwich was cold and the fries were way too salty. We couldn't find one person to stop and say this to so we thought we would let the host know at the end of this drama cause someone took our cash other than the server - go figure.

The service is why some people come back. If you don't have that then I don't know what you have other than less-than-ok food.    [20 Nov 2001 21:54:07]

A First Timer to Chili's
I just got back from an awesome dining experience at Chili's. Everything about the restaurant was sizzling including our dinners! I had the Presidente Margarita and the Southwestern eggrolls for an appetizer, and for dinner the mushroom jack fajitas. The service was outstanding, the food was fabulous and the drinks...well I don't think I ever had a margarita that made me speechless before. The service is very poor if ordering from the bar. Arm yourself with Raid or any other kind of repellent, for the staff can really seem to bug you with their poor attitudes and service. And they'll even dish out some "old crow" for those of you who have a complaint.

One of our favorites
I read some of the other reviews and have to agree, the menu is a bit predictable....but then, isn't that why we go to a chain restaurant instead of searching for that little off-the-wall place that makes the best......well, whatever?
We like the Fresno Chili's. Our service, whether for 3 of us, or when we have a small group, is usually great. The waiters have a lot of energy and are super helpful. The boneless buffalo wings are exactly what buffalo wings should be. The Chipotle Burger is also very good. Happy Hour is happy and we enjoy the ambience. Takeout is also a great Chili's service if you happen to want to order in, and they are pretty doggone fast. Two thumbs up for our friendly neighborhood Chili's.    [10 Nov 2006 21:13:05]
