Located in the Wine Press Shopping Center at Shaw and Marks. This is a typical neighborhood Chinese restaurant.

Of course if you're not in the mood for Chinese food, this corner hosts Italian, Japanese, Indian, Armenian and steak & seafood restaurants as well.

This place is new and was recommended by an acquaintance. It was started by a former cook from Shanghai in Fresno.

The bothersome parts were the dirty table top and that we (twice) had to request chopsticks.

We ordered three dishes: Black mushroom oyster sauce, spicy scallops and sizzling beef. We had no complaints about any of the dishes except that maybe they used a bit too much oil in the wok. The scallops were fresh and tasty, and this chef actually makes the dishes spicy hot when he says they're spicy hot!

All in all, while it is nothing spectacular, it is a good Chinese restaurant. My bottom line is always, would I go there again? In this case, the answer is yes.    [14 Sep 2000 22:42:41]
