Golden Spur is Worth a Reservation Don't expect to definitely get a table on a weekend evening unless you have a reservation. Once we got in, once we didn't.
Menu board is brought to your table with many choices. [08 Dec 2000 17:53:27]

Golden Spur Food and staff are wonderful. Would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. Have been going here for over 25 years. Very consistent. [07 Feb 2001 13:56:24]

Golden Spur My colleagues and I usually eat at the Golden Spur for lunch. I'm not crazy about fish, but I always order it there. The fresh fish is wonderful, and they'll prepare it grilled, blackened or any way you like it. The portions are large and well worth the money. [28 Mar 2001 17:28:06]

First Visit My first visit after six years of working in Glendora was a mixed experience. The Spur Top Sirloin was a huge flavorful steak, cooked exactly as ordered. The service was excellent . . . attentive and friendly, but unobtrusive. The senior-aged hostess never cracked a smile and was unwelcoming. They really need to put up a sign requesting cell phones be turned to vibrate or OFF. Two different tables close to me kept receiving phone calls, and were speaking in loud voices that could be heard across the room. [16 May 2003 13:32:20]

Best Steak Anywhere The food here is excellent all-around, but their steaks are something else. I've eaten just a few steaks in my time, and the filet mignon at The 'Spur is the best I know of anywhere. They serve one that is just bacon-wrapped, or you can get one stuffed with cheese & herbs and covered with a delicious wine sauce (highly recommended). Their seafood is nothing to sneeze at either. The service is usually very good, although they do have 1 or 2 not-so-good waitresses. Even if you get one of the not-so-good ones, in the end you won't care because the food is so superb. All in all an outstanding restaurant. [05 Apr 2004 05:09:09]

Best Calamari on Earth Prepared with a very light batter over large tender pancake-size servings, sprinkled with almonds. Tastes like abalone. [14 Jul 2004 03:39:04]

Golden Spur/Glendora Had a great dinner, lovely atmosphere. BUT they should use Romaine instead of iceberg lettuce for their salads. Everything else was perfect. [27 Jul 2004 19:13:39]

Golden Spur ROCKS Steaks! Seafood! Delightful every time I walk in the doors. Greeted by owner . . . makes the entire evening memorable. Native Californian here and my family has been going there since the get go. Thank you for everything. xoxox [19 Mar 2005 16:49:03]
