St Orres rocks! We spend three days here, staying in Tree House one night and...ta da...Black Chanterelle on New Year's Eve. The serene redwoods, the roar of the ocean, the exquisite food...YESSSS!
It's too bad that Richard Trump had a bad experience.
We'll be back for more!

Sweet Memories Last there is 1981...sat with a beautiful young woman whom I adored at the time...We had escargots, sea bass and (I think) a creme bruglia. My memories of the wonderful food, wine and being desperately in love are all intermingled. It was the paramount experience of my life up to that point. After 22 years, every detail is very clear in my mind and soul. [02 Oct 2003 18:13:52]

St. Orres Rocks St Orres is the most beautiful place on the North Coast. The dining room is lovely, and the service is exquisite. I really felt like all the staff there did their best to make my trip memorable. Wild turkeys, beautiful ocean views, lovely architecture, AWESOME service, quaint cabins, ocean swells lulling me to sleep-- talk about paradise! [31 Oct 2003 00:35:32]

St Orres: The hot spot on the North Coast Recently I was traveling from Eureka to San Francisco on HWY 1. About 7:00 on Friday night, I passed what looked like a beautiful church. I was hungry, so I stopped. I entered the lobby and I was greeted by a friendly hostess who told me that if I didn't mind waiting, they could squeeze me into their (very packed) dining room. Am I ever glad I waited!
My appetizer of seared baby abalone was to die for, and the 3 course meal included in the fixed dinner price ($40) was the best I'd had in a long while.
But what really made the dinner memorable was the friendly service. I was so impressed the way the entire staff worked as a team to ensure my enjoyment. The dining room staff were attentive, personable, professional, and SO friendly. Even though I was just passing through, and a single person taking a table in their very busy dining room, I was treated like a true guest.
Last, I just want to say that I was impressed to find such fine dining and service out in a very lovely "middle of no where."
If I ever have the opportunity to return to Mendocino county, I will definitely visit again! [06 Nov 2003 21:18:25]

We returned yesterday and are still in a St. Orres daze. Both the hotel and the Sea Pines cabin were wonderful (we particularly loved the cabin ... so homey and perfect!), and dinner was yummy. Breakfast was totally worth waking up early for!
Whether you're there solo or with someone, they'll do you right. [06 Jul 2006 01:39:23]
