Not that great We had heard that this was a really good restaurant, maybe we hit it on a bad night (Saturday). I ordered the end cut of the Prime Rib expecting what I have always received in other restaurants, a flavorful dark juicy end cut full of the spices that they season the meat with. What I received was brick shaped, no seasoning and had no resemblance to Prime Rib in look or taste. It was almost as if it was boiled. Although my dish was the worst, the others were not impressed either and will not try Teresa's again. [01 Jun 2003 10:01:10]

Best place in Jackson I go here to my Clan Buchanan dinner every year after the Christmas walk in Volcano. Every year the food is just wonderful, from the moist chicken and its tasty broth all the way down to the best ranch dressing I have ever had. The service is out of this world, and my Clan looks forward to dinner all night long. They are quick with the courses, and keep the water hot for the tea. They decorate the place with a Christmas tree and lots of ribbon and frills. Enough that we took formal pictures by it this year! [14 Dec 2005 20:36:27]

FABULOUS Italian Family Style Dining At Its BEST ! I and my family have been semi-regular customers of this "SLICE OF HEAVEN" for over 30 years. We drive just over an hour to enjoy the best food, great friendly service and have never been disappointed. Absolutely the best food, wonderful antipasto, soup, salad ... everything is excellent. Don't Let Your Guest Sample Your Food My wife and I visited Teresa's around 2pm, on a Sunday (9/10/06). Although I was looking for a lunch, Teresa's only offers a dinner menu after 2pm. Since I was not particularly hungry, and my wife wasn't at all hungry, I ordered the least expensive soup and salad selection ($9.00). I ate the soup and didn't want the salad (I hate vinegar dressing and wasn't offered a choice of dressing) so my wife ate it. I was shocked to discover I was charged a $5.00 "Sitting Fee". According to Teresa's owner, Pat, the bartender witnessed my wife sampling the salad and that's why I was billed a "Sitting Fee"! When I objected to the charge, I was told I should have read the fine print in the menu. Unfortunately, I didn't read the menu.
When I returned home to discuss the matter with Pat via telephone, I was upset but remained civil. Pat told me she was busy, tired of arguing about the matter, and hung up on me. Next time you eat at Teresa's, try standing up...and be sure to read the menu cover to cover. Who knows, there may be a conversation fee. [11 Sep 2006 16:41:33]

A Family Tradition! I used to come here with my Italian grandparents in the '70s - '80s. I lived outside of California after that. I just recently started revisiting Teresa's about three years ago when I returned to live in Sacramento. Each time I go, I am still amazed at how it remains as good as it was when I was growing up. Teresa's has been a part of our Italian family tradition for many years. Delicious, old-world, quaint and well worth the drive. Have a good bottle of wine with dinner!!! You are in wine country! Fantastic! [23 Sep 2006 13:02:40]

Quit the whining We have gone to Teresa's for years and have never had a bad lunch or dinner and the service is always very pleasant. Some people can never be pleased! [19 Nov 2006 15:23:06]

Some Crackers with Your Whine? Since 1982, my husband and I used to drive two hours each way for a meal at Teresa's Place. Now we have retired and moved to the area. It is hard to have room for an entree after the wonderful bread, antipasto, soup and salad. One must, however, save room for some Amaretto cheesecake -- it melts in your mouth! If you don't want Italian, go to Denny's for a cup of soup and your prime rib! [14 Nov 2007 17:58:11]

Very Poor, Very Disappointed Thank God I had some great company on my recent group event there. Service seemed nonexistent; food was less then mediocre, portions were ridiculously small and we didn’t get what we paid for (cheap cuts of meat, too). I really couldn’t see myself or family going to this restaurant ever again. Since my sentiment was repeated by many of our local young-couple group, I am not sure how they intend to stay in business. don't go......... I should have taken heed to the reviews and not gone to this restaurant. From the moment we walked in I knew something was amiss to the time we left the building. We should have left after they brought the soup. The only thing that was par at this place was the cocktails. The two different kinds of bread were old and one tasted as if it had been in the basket buttered all week. The minestrone soup must have been running out, it looked like something the garbage disposal had backed up, apparently they must have been running low and put an emulsifier to it, I recognized a carrot piece and my husband found one piece of pasta in the entire bowl, It was sad. The salad was decent but the dressing came out in a dirty used bowl. My husband's scampi was a few shrimp in butter water, he said it was tasteless, and then to top it off the waitress chased us down in the parking lot to give us a new bill for 30 cents more. We will never go there again and will not recommend this place to anyone. Unless it's to recommend not to eat there. [21 May 2009 12:07:14]
