Don't bother going for chicken! We just tried to go to Bo's for dinner (since they don't accept take-out orders via phone) .. but 15 minutes after opening for dinner on a very uncrowded weeknight, they were sold out of their only non-red-meat dish (chicken). So if you have a craving for BBQ chicken, go somewhere else. [14 Aug 2003 21:06:24]

Great Food. I don't know what the last person was so angry about? The food goes FAST there. 15 minutes after opening it's not uncommon for them to be near sold out for the day! Get there early and grab some of the best BBQ in all of the SF Bay area. The staff is friendly and courteous and the potions can only be described as "AMPLE", I never finish all my food in one sitting. Great BBQ and great sauce to boot! [11 Sep 2003 17:05:46]

Glorious Peasant Food. Quite simply the best barbeque my son (a chef) and I have ever eaten. The brisket was succulent, tender, flavorful – not at all dried out by the smoking process, which takes 20 hours. The pork ribs, a delight. The chicken was so rich and moist that we thought it had been brined. Nope, cooked slowly and with loving care. The sausage, made locally, was mildly spicy without assaulting the palate. The beef and chicken are free-range, the staff is welcoming, and the ambience is diner-friendly. About sauce: Bo believe's the sauce is an afterthought: "Good meat cooked just right and you don't need sauce" He's probably right but we enjoyed the traditionally sweet and flavorful red sauce. Served with green salad, potato salad and a tiny baked sweet potato. What's not to like? [16 Nov 2003 19:29:19]

The Best Yet! I visited Bo's for the first time on Saturday after reading about it on the Internet. Let me tell you, it was the best barbeque I've EVER had! As an African American from Oakland, I've had my share of fair to mid barbeque, and I would rank Bo's as the best yet. We got there early, secured a table and proceeded to wait about 15-20 minutes for our plate. While waiting we watched a steady stream of customers come through. Amazing. Bo's cooking has made a fan out of me. The beef brisket is so tender you could cut it with a fork, and the pork ribs were succulent and tasty. I can't wait to try the chicken. (I wasn't too impressed with the links, but I seem to be in the minority on that one.) [19 Apr 2004 17:52:09]

Best Bar-B-Que The Side of Texas Great brisket, wondeful ribs, marvelous links. Only open a few hours a day (noon till 2 or so for lunch) but very well worth catching plus a great array of beers. [07 May 2004 01:06:54]

Darn Good BBQ. Bo is the nicest man, the meats and chicken are top notch, cooked slowly and obviously with care, and the place is packed. This is an experience people! Go, expect to wait in line, and then enjoy. The sauce is one the side cuz the meat is great. [16 Sep 2004 19:51:27]

THE BEST I am told Sunset magazine rated Bo's in Lafayette, California as the best barbeque in the United States. Having spent 40+ years eating barbeque throughout the U.S., I concur with Sunset's evaluation. Everything is top quality from the meat to the salad and baguette. All beverages are served in bottles without any cans in sight. Don't go early or late as you will not get in. [04 May 2005 18:21:27]

Too Expensive $$$$$ !!! The food is grea but it is sooooooo overpriced in my opinion. $15 -$20 to eat off of a paper plate. [04 Aug 2005 17:20:29]
