Overall New York Strip steak my husband had was a poor quality of meat, very tough.
Your ladies restroom stinks so bad it ruined the meal I just ate. You have a sign in the bathroom that you take pride in cleanliness. I told the hostesses at the front desk about the smell and they were aware of it and said others had complained also. Why had it not been taken care of then?
It is sad you have let this restaurant deteriorate like this. We will not return or recommend you to anyone. [11 Nov 2003 17:01:09]

Twelve of us had dinner at the Hungry Hunter in Lafayette on 3/20/04 and we all had a wonderful dinner. The food was excellent. The service was outstanding - it was so good that the young man that was our waiter earned a 33% tip. He was gracious, friendly, well-mannered and is a tribute to the establishment. pleasant surprise In general, we are fairly negative about the Hungry Hunter chain but were pleasantly surprised at the very good food and excellent service at a recent birthday party at the Lafayette location. We had a party of 14 people and every person remarked on how good the food was and at reasonable prices. Recognize we are not talking gourmet cooking here but then it is not gourmet prices either. Excellent value. We will definitely return to this location although the other Hungry Hunters can continue to pound sand. [08 Jun 2004 14:32:36]

Yum~! I enjoyed dinner at the Hungry Hunter while visiting friends in California last weekend. We didn't have a reservation but it only took fifteen minutes for us to be seated. There was a fairly large birthday party (along with a screaming child but what can you do) in the same room as us, but our waiter was great about getting to us and he took good care of us.
I had the bacon wrapped stuffed sirloin dinner and an appletini. The food was wonderful, the ambiance was great and we had a leisurely meal. Not once did we feel rushed, even though they were busy.
Don't mind the anonymous fools knocking this place, they obviously have some other agenda- I had never been to a Hungry Hunter before this trip and I'd be happy to return the next chance I get. [30 Apr 2006 09:20:53]

Fell short as to what we were expecting Last year for New Year's Eve, 2005, four of us had dinner there in Lafayette. Two of us are regular customers. For that evening a set menu was shown which started off with a shrimp cocktail, table prepared/or special salad, a selection of a $40+ or $30+ dinner, plus a slice of fudge cake for dessert. To say the least, the 2005 meal was fantastic.
This New Year's Eve, 2006, the same menu was offered. The four of us had the higher price dinner at our 6:15 pm reservation since it came with lobster and prime rib and/or steak. There were some other specials to choose from. The year old menu showed the shrimp cocktail which the waiter quickly informed us that it wasn't offered this year as part of the dinner package (even though it was shown and no price given). Next came the salad on a warm plate, consequently, having room temperature lettuce. My entree came with tender lobster and prime rib that was far from hot, however, a great baked potato. The waiter offered to get hot dinners for us but it was decided to keep what we were served due to the many customers. Extra hot bread also came during dinner which we asked for. The dessert then followed which saved the dinner. The waiter's service was good.
Even though the food was "Okay" it was sure a let down from the previous year. We are not sure if we will return next year. [02 Jan 2007 19:18:26]
