Best pizza you'll have! I have been eating at Mangia since they first opened a few years back and can honestly say that this is the best pizza you will find. I am talking in the sense of "traditional" pizzas not specialty types like Zachary's that are in a league of their own.
The crust is amazing, the sauce has just enough zing, and the toppings are plentiful! You can't go wrong with Mangia! [01 Jan 2005 16:59:01]

We get Mangia's cheese pizza every Friday. We love this place. When we go into the restaurant to eat, they are friendly, nice to kids, etc. We always come back to Mangia! [28 Mar 2005 22:11:29]

A Fan!
Yep, Pretty Darned Good Pizza I work in the area and frequent Mangia quite a bit. I agree with the previous descriptions, the crust is yummy, the sauce well seasoned and the topping are great - if you catch them on a good day. Some days they are not as good as others and the food reflects this. They can be a bit slow for sit down service and usually the service is quite friendly but again, sometimes the gentlemen can be quite abrupt. The salads are okay, nothing to write home about but the dressings are above average. Bottom line: the good days win out and this is one of my favourite pizzas from anywhere in the Bay Area. Good food/Service I work in Orinda and there isn't much to eat here. So when we heard about Mangia, we were anxious to give them a try. I wasn't disappointed. The food is great and the price is right. (Hard to find lunch around here for < $10). I agree with the earlier review about the abrupt service, however. But maybe that's how they do it in the 'old country.' [07 Jul 2006 13:28:25]

Food is great, service not so much... The food is fantastic, hands down one of the best in the area. The service, however, leaves something to be desired. Every time we have dined in, one or more of our dishes was never ordered, and the servers never owned up to their mistakes! We had a vegetarian pasta dish take almost 50 min. to make. The rest of the food was out in 25 min. [31 Aug 2006 15:18:25]

Good Food, Bad Service We go there all the time for the food. Because it is family friendly, it can get very loud there, though. Most pasta dishes are good, and portions are generous; pizzas are yummy. Don't get the house salad.
The service can be pretty bad -- they don't bring things you ask for and leave things off your order, and the owner is just a grouch, not welcoming at all!
We only had one experience when the service was excellent, and it was at lunch on a weekend, when the entire wait staff was male. [10 Jun 2008 14:22:16]
