A Family Favorite For Over 20 years My parents were coming to The Beach House (Laguna Beach) since long before they ever decided to have me (I'm 24.) It has easily become a favorite of my own. The food, while somewhat unimaginative, is always delicious, hot and fresh. The elegant oceanfront setting is balanced by the casual dining atmosphere within the restaurant. There's nothing like eating a delicious meal, in comfortable clothes and shoes while taking in a beautiful coastal scene. [08 Aug 2003 15:34:51]

Stunning Location - Great Food! We came here for our wedding anniversary while on holiday from England (Aug 2005) and the friends we stayed with got a trip here while we baby-sat their kids - shame we couldn't have all eaten together! We sat on the deck overlooking the sea but couldn't get a table until after sundown, so book early to see the sun set!
The night of our visit the fridges packed up. Somehow they managed to serve us chilled wine, not quite what we'd ordered, but they gave us each a complimentary dessert. We both had fish can't remember details, but with the Beach House's reputation you cannot go wrong. And the location is just stunning. [14 Feb 2006 08:50:34]

Tried and True Thrown Out by New The Beach House has been a favorite of mine for over 30 years. This year, I was sadly disappointed, however. Their new (in 2008) executive chef has thrown out the signature white creamy clam chowder for his version, which is off-white, over-spiced and practically clam-free. The delicious warm sourdough bread gone - in its place, hard sourdough rolls that are good, but average. The delicious crispy Beach House salad? Also gone. Garden greens (weeds with an attitude), goat cheese and mandarin oranges have replaced it. The view is still outstanding, but the food is now over-spiced, and the chef is trying to hard to display ego over just good food. The result, for most of my party, was indigestion until 3 in the morning and a resolve to break 30 years of tradition and spend $500 someplace else next Christmas Eve. Sorry Beach House, you are losing it and you have lost me. [15 Jan 2009 17:39:09]
