Great food, lousy service Today I celebrated my 50th birthday at a restaurant of my choice. My choice? Lark Creek Inn in Larkspur, CA. It was a light lunch, since dinner was waiting just around the corner.
We called for a 12pm reservation. They use a ploy to create excitement: They could take us at 11:45am or 12:15pm. We arrived at 12:15pm and found the dining room mostly empty.
2 1/2 hours later, we managed to get one bowl of soup and two Caesar salads. That left no time for dessert.
At no time did the waitress apologize for the slow service. The hostess once breezed by our table and asked how things were and smiled and took off before hearing the answer. Our water and iced tea were superbly filled numerous times.
The celery root soup lacked zip and salt but the Caesar salad was spectacular. [17 Jan 2004 02:41:12]

Beautiful Restaurant Yesterday I took three of my colleagues to dinner at the Lark Creek Inn, and words cannot describe the experience that we had. I have been to the restaurant many times through the years, and this time it felt extra special. The atmosphere at the restaurant is cozy, elegant and warming.
We were pleasantly surprised to find that there is a new Chef Erica. Her menu is exciting without over-doing it and the food was incredible.
The Inn is back!!!!!!! [17 Sep 2007 18:25:13]
