Best and Most Unique Mexican Restaurant I've Been To Alebrijes Bistro serves some of the most authentic Mexican food. The service is great, and it's perfect for a family dinner. [16 Dec 2007 20:32:06]

Wow! So I looked on Yelp last night, because I was SOOO tired of the Mexican food around Lodi, and there was Alebrijes. Something different, but how different . . .
You MUST have the seasonal guacamole! Never have I had something so refreshing and spicy at the same time. Great for the weather! It was made right at our table with watermelon, avocado, orange, and other fresh ingredients. Sounds strange, but when you see every table laden with a fresh bowl of guac, you know something must be right! But that wasn't all, our food was very fresh with amazing flavor, where each bite brought back my nostalgia for my Mexican cruise, to the chagrin of my boyfriend.
The only bad points were the layout of the restaurant, with seating for a maximum of maybe 30, chairs that were a bit uncomfortable, and sparse decor, but you forget all of that when your waiter shows up with his tray of guacamole goodness. (And to be honest, this place will become so busy soon that I am guessing they will find larger digs!)
This place has become my favorite restaurant in Lodi, with a chef who will come out to see how you are doing and thank you for coming, and a staff that is warm and welcoming . . . not to mention patrons who take delight in showing first timers the ropes on what to order.
This place is great for anyone wanting an mini-vacation to culinary Mexico! [10 Oct 2008 12:58:10]
