Simply the best fish & chips around! And we've tried about all of the fish & chip shops in the county. Also much better than the fish & chips served in otherwise higher sales seafood restaurants. We know our fish & chips! [08 Nov 2003 02:20:46]

The Best!! The best fish and chips that we have ever had. I love the fish, clams, and the awesome french fries!! They also have good hush puppies, and more. The place looks like a 'hole in the wall' (but our family loves places like that!), but the fish is the best!!! [06 May 2004 18:41:19]

very very gooood fish!!! We happened to drive by Alfies and stopped to try it. And we were hooked!! The catfish was almost as good as mine!! We do not have a good fish place. I hope we can get them to come to Lodi, CA. [09 May 2006 15:55:11]

Quite Disappointing We have lived in Lompoc for 2+ years and have seen the commercials for this place but never tried it until today. We reviewed the comments on this web site before we tried it and decided to because the comments were all very positive.
We reviewed the pretty simple menu and placed my order with the unhappy looking teenage guy that was working there.
We tried both the fish and chicken. The food was nothing special at all. The fish and chips don't come close to most seafood restaurants and the chicken was pretty tasteless. The french fries were big which we like but they were not crispy or very flavorful.
We won't be going back to Alfie's. I think the other posts on this site must have been from the operators of the establishment or by folks who have never had really good fish and chips before. [08 Jul 2007 18:50:38]

Fabulous Restaurant I don't get back to my hometown of Lompoc, California very often (I live in the Boston area now).
I loved Alfies when I was living there, and I love it when I get to visit my family in Lompoc, and can eat as much as I want. My husband is allergic to fish/seafood, and also has celiac disease, so when I visit Lompoc on my own I try to go there every day for fish and chips.
My brother, Mike Sewall, and his wife Nellie, are the owners of Alfies, so while my main objective is to visit family and friends in Lompoc, my second objective is to each Alfies every day. I love the hush puppies too, and the little bits of batter they put over the fish. [23 Sep 2007 14:52:43]
