Bad Service, worse management One of the worst experiences of my life.
My food never arrived and no one, including the general manager seemed to care.
I was completely ignored by the wait staff as well as the management.
This restaurant needs to take a long look at itself and change the direction of its course. I only hope that this bad attitude does not spread to the other two restaurants owned by the same company (L'Opera and The Madison). [29 Sep 2003 20:25:30]

Everything was bad I don't know where to start. Gnats were flying by the window table I was sitting at. We had the slowest waiter on this side of the Mississippi River(he was attending to ice at the bar a lot more than to his customers). My friend did not like her dessert so she sent it back and as a reward we were overcharged $9.48 for a pint of sangria ($17.48) that should have been the happy hour price of $8.00, according to the Alegria website. The meats were too salty and no one came to quench our thirst. I waited with an empty water glass for 1/2 hour at least before the waiter showed his face and then we had to ask for the water; he didn't come with a purpose to replenish our glasses. During the meal, a solicitor from off of the street came right in and tried to get us to donate to some Chinese missionary. A waitress saw him and motioned to a waiter to get rid of him, but the waiter did nothing. It was one of the top three most annoying eating experiences of my life. I've had better experiences in Mexico and China where they know I'm a tourist and are not counting on my return business. Obviously Alegria isn't counting on it either. I will be sending a letter to receive the refund for my overcharged sangria. [13 Jun 2009 17:39:27]
