For some reason and for some people seafood served in a waterfront restaurant seems to taste better... - Elmer Dills Restaurant Reviews, Elmer Dills , 30 November 2003 - suggest change

DO NOT EAT HERE 6 of us went for dinner. 15 minute wait before server ran by our table saying she'd be right back. I think she came back about 5 minutes later. Before her return the bus person slammed down sea monkey waters & a basket of 4 rolls on our table, no butter. Had to ask twice for more bread & butter. We were then brought white toast, just 4 slices of this thin white delicacy : ( then we got cut up pieces of some kind of rolls that strangely resembled hot dog buns the next time we asked for bread. The dining experience just kept plummeting into the depths of restaurant hell! The food took a long time. Before we even got our food, the staff teased us by placing another table's order on our table in front of us and understandably had to take the meals back and deliver them to their rightful owners! I noticed that the staff kept parading around with plates of food and absolutely no idea where the dinners were to go. I worked in restaurants for 15 years and I have seen it all. This may be the worst I have seen. A restaurant should have some sort of system in place so that the staff knows (at least) what table the food is supposed to go to. The service was bad. And never did the staff communicate what was going on until the end. Something about a big rush but I observed that the "big rush" left before we even ordered. The orders came out all wrong. The staff was inexperienced at best and they seemed to have a SERVICE WITH A BAD ATTITUDE motto, must trickle down from the top...The meals were OVERCOOKED, undercooked with incorrect side dishes. Just plain bad food for the most part too. The garlic mashed potatoes are just sick! They don't even taste of garlic. The manager/owner ? was the worst part of it all. He didn't even apologize or attempt to rectify the situation! I wished him luck with his poor business practices because they will need it. [07 Aug 2006 16:14:57]
