What Did Happen to the Service?
My husband and I used to go to Katella Deli for breakfast a lot but the last time we went will be our last. It was the second time we got bad service, a cold breakfast, and the well-done bacon we asked for was old reheated rubber.    [28 Jun 2005 11:04:08]

The Real Deli of Today.
Need that sweet-sour cabbage soup recipe; it is the best in the land. We have been coming to Katella deli since they were on Katella and Seal Beach Blvd. We live in Temecula and come to them once a month; the 1 hr drive is worth it.    [23 Oct 2004 22:22:32]

Sudden Recipe Change?
"Everything in the Pot" soup, had some sort of wheat germ in it. Bland flavor, real disappointed. I don't know what to think. Until now, the food has been worth twice what they charge! I spoke to Joe and he said he would make everything right, next time. We'll see?    [29 Aug 2004 20:20:43]

Pastrami to Die for

What Happened to the Service?
At least four times a month my wife and I lunch at the Katella Deli. On July 9th we arrived at 1:50 p.m. and went to the bar to have lunch and enjoy the company of an excellent bartender. As we walked in an employee came up an stated the bar was closed for lunch. Not hello, good afternoon or anything civil, just "we are closed for lunch". Half the room were tables eating lunch. We went to the reception area to inquire as to the "closed for lunch" and were told we could order drinks and eat at a table. No other explanation. We left and went someplace else. When we returned to the office I called Katella Deli and asked for the manager. The person that answered the phone (with a very heavy accent) said he was the manager. I explained what had happened and he replied "When you come back it won't happen again". I replied "why would I come back"? After twenty seconds of silence I broke the connection.    [09 Jul 2004 19:32:56]

Don't Do It
We visit the Los Al area once a month and usually phone in once each visit. For the last three orders we have received the wrong orders, we have not received the complete order and the service at the take out counter is poor. Calling and talking to the manager is a total waste of time.
On the good side if you eat at the deli service seems to be good.    [21 May 2004 13:45:30]
