Best Place in Silicon Valley This restaurant is exceptional. The food is outstanding. The spring rolls are the best you will ever eat. The filet mignon is outstanding and the desserts are also excellent. The maitre d' was a pain, but everything else was delightful. Ambiance is great. It's expensive, but worth it. Bad Value If money is no object to you, by all means give Tapestry a try. If, however, a nice dinner out is an occasional splurge, you're sure to find a better meal at a better price elsewhere.
I have never paid so much for so little in a restaurant before. The Cabernet was very good but at $12 for a half-full glass one would hope so. I ordered the scallops. When the waiter put my plate in front of me I almost laughed out loud. Three scallops for $28, with no side dish! My companion and I were so turned off we decided to skip dessert at Tapestry. Poor Excuse For A Restaurant In my opinion, the best part about Tapestry is the view from the outside. Once you step into this sub-par establishment, you've left the possibility of having a good dining experience behind. The menu seletions are trying too hard to be some interesting "fusion," "trendy," and "avant garde," and the prices are definitely high for a bistro setting--again, in my opinion. The service was good; however, the food was down right bad. For the cost of the meal, I was disgusted with Tapestry. Why this establishment is still in business is a mystery to me. The people of Los Gatos must have no idea what to expect. You are better off going to the local pizza place than getting a good meal at Tapestry. With the prices they charge...shame on the owners!! Pass up this poor excuse for a restaurant. [23 Jan 2007 12:47:38]
