I went to this restaurant two nights in a row while on business in October 2001. The seating on the deck was spectacular. Fresh air, crashing waves and a warm heater directly above me to take the chill off. Both nights I had a Georgia Peach martini -- sort of a peachy Cosmopolitan -- which was served in an oversized martini glass and was perfect. The first night I had the maple-glazed pork chop which was butterflied, very tender and lightly drizzled with a tasty maple glaze, just the right amount. It came with a twice baked potato which also was perfectly seasoned. I thought this was unique, I had never seen this item on a menu. The dish also came with a marvelous southwestern-style cold corn salsa -- sweet and spicy at the same time. The recommended wine was a Syrah which is something I would have chosen myself. The second night I had the Chilean Sea Bass. This dish was also fabulous. It was served on a large platter of a tomato broth with summer squash and carrots, a generous portion of mashed potato sat in the center and the sea bass layed on top. The recommended wine was a Sauvignon Blanc which would not have been my first choice, but the bubbly, sweet nature of the wine was a perfect marriage to the spiciness of the tomato broth. I finished every bite of both dinners, something I never do and can still remember how everything tasted. I am relocating to Malibu in the spring and will definitely enjoy sampling all of the other dishes.    [11 Nov 2001 17:34:24]
