The Worst Restaurant in So Cal
I rarely provide bad reviews but Casa Escobar is the worst restaurant that I've dined in ever. I was especially disappointed since Los Angeles is a mecca for great restaurants. The food is certainly not authentic Mexican (its salsa is made with canned tomatoes) and the service is undeniably poor. I had to get up from my table three times to call a server for drinks and appetizers. It became apparent that no server wanted to wait on us when the hostess was pulled from her stand to take our orders. And to be more insulting, the available servers stood ten feet away observing others. We had a similar experience at the bar.

Unless you're a regular, expect to wait and be served. I think the servers saw a party filled with people in the 20s and did not want to "waste" their time on us. I should have listened to others who did not recommend this place.    [14 Aug 2003 15:59:46]
