Great & Authentic Filipino Food!
If you want to experience Filipino food, visit Barrio Fiesta. The mango and avocado juice is to die for. Don't leave without tasting kare-kare, lechon kawali and pansit guisado. Definitely a THUMBS UP!    [23 May 2001 18:46:33]

I enjoyed a lot of food in this restaurant.
Try the bicol express, sizzling boneless bangus and the crispy pata.
Champion talaga sa lasa at affordable pa.    [24 Oct 2002 19:20:18]

Bad service
I was there on 3/26/03 w/my daughter and her fiance. They just announced their engagement and also to come visit me. They both go to school @ Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Anyway, I really wanted to take them the a nice authentic Filipino restaurant and found this on the Internet.

However, after we were seated for about 10 minutes a group of say 'bout 5 or more came in and got seated and served water right away. Then after another 5 minutes had gone by the waiter came and started getting their order - now what's up with that? I was so upset I told my daughter and her fiance - LET'S GO.

So I won't be going to this restaurant again ever!    [27 Mar 2003 19:58:07]

Their kare-kare is all sauce, (where's the beef) I did not order kara-kare SOUP.    [24 Sep 2003 12:39:48]

Great filipino food!
I was visiting from Houston, Texas and I was craving for some good Filipino food. I ordered crispy pata (yummy) and sizzling bulalo and was very, very pleased...
Needless to say the food was great and our waiter was superb.
A franchise here in Houston would not be such a bad idea.    [22 Oct 2003 15:36:53]

Very Bad Service
Barrio Fiesta serves the best Filipino dishes in the Bay Area, hands down. My concern is the very poor service.

Not having an empty glass of water has always been my measure of a good service. At Barrio Fiesta, one always have to beg and wait a loooong time for a refill. I hope they can add more help on the floor. The waiter (dark, curly-haired guy) shows no respect and Judith cussed one time when I called her for a condiment.    [22 Dec 2003 12:45:57]

Soupy Kare-Kare.
We had our Filipino Christmas party at Barrio Fiesta Lakewood. I was pleased with the food except for kare-kare, it was good but soupy, 'needs more meat & vegie.    [23 Jan 2004 15:21:26]

I'm come from the East Coast (New York) and I was able to sample your Barrio Fiesta Glendale last Aug. 16, 2004 with my family as my cousin from LA, California treated us there for dinner. I find all their food super-yummy with real and authentic Filipino taste. The crispy pata was really good so is the Crispy Calamare. I just hope next time around though, they'd put more beef in their kare-kare coz' there's not much meat to see, mostly veggies only!    [25 Aug 2004 16:47:21]
