Best Place Ever!!!
This is the best Mexican food I have ever tasted.... the food was great the service was incredible, Pedro a young waiter is the funniest most entertaining person you'll ever meet. I recommended the beef soup and their camarones al mojo de ajo they were awesome!!!!    [19 Oct 2005 20:50:34]

Don't be fooled by the exterior - the food is king!
I lived in Monrovia for several years without giving this place a 2nd look (it's buried in a strip mall and not in Monrovia's trendy Old Town area and is not much to look at). Then a manager that I worked for that was from Mexico and lived in South Pasadena told me she came to El Matador for the best area Mexican food.
