Description

Home cooking with a flair. They cook your mother's recipes and make them seem like Oscar winners. Voted "Best American Restaurant" in Monterey. The setting is an old roadhouse about 10 minutes from downtown Monterey. The stone walls and beautiful gardens provide for a romantic dining experience. Inside, the white table cloths and excellent service give the restaurant a special feel for any occasion. A little expensive for the down home menu, but the quality is first class.

Very Nice
Tarpy's is very "Monterey". Elegant, casual, pretty and kinda pricey. A great place to take someone on a date or for a special celebration. Food is delicious. My friend had the filet mignon and I had a vegetarian pasta dish. They're very accommodating to vegetarians and special requests. Someone in our group was vegan and they were able to accommodate him just fine.    [30 Jan 2006 05:19:45]
