Top: United States: CA: Mountain View Description Medium-sized restaurant famous for its fine Indian food. Its gracious decor and classical Indian music combine to create a relaxing atmosphere. We tried the Bhindi and the Rogan Josh, as well as their naan. If you like okra, be sure to try the Bhindi - slices of (non-gooey) okra with onions and spices. It's a delicious blend of flavors. The Rogan Josh (a lamb curry) was also excellent. Large chunks of lamb come to your table in a rich brown mildly spicy sauce. The chunks are really too big to pick up with the naan - just cut them first with your fork. The lamb was tender enough that we didn't need a knife. Only the mango lassi was a disappointment. It had been thinned quite a bit with milk, so the tang of the yoghurt was almost absent, and there wasn't nearly the amount of mango flavor I've come to expect. Service was excellent on our first visit. We ordered a glass of wine halfway through the meal and it arrived within 60 seconds. The waiter even served the food onto our plates for us. Plates and glasses were cleared away promptly. However, on our second visit, the snooty woman who serves drinks got the order vastly wrong, seemed uninterested in fixing it, and even left the mis-ordered drinks (that we didn't drink) on the bill. Perhaps we would've gotten better service from her if we weren't wearing jeans?
