Disappointing Experience Landed @ SFO 2 hours ago. Got to hotel and checked in. Had to find food - fast. Indian is my favourite - I eat it 3-4 times/week. I've been to India.
Ok, so on to the experience. They're rude. I got hung up on when placing an order for take-out. I called back. He did it again (I was being as pleasant as I know how until this point). I ordered anyway (ok, you can say DUH here). I finally found the place, pick up my food, and take it back to the hotel. Oh yes, I told him twice I'm in a hotel and need placeware (at least a plate - I ordered naan so I didn't need a fork, etc).
Guess what? Nothing. Little Chinese take-out style boxes for the food and that's it. $32 for 2 dishes + naan + 2 lassis. No big deal if I ate in and had "normal" portions. I even tipped them (duh?). He threw my bill at me (I still hadn't been rude yet, in fact made a point of it to be nice.
Ok, the food is average. I asked for medium spice -- it's barely mild. That's no biggie either except the Saag Paneer and the Navratan Korma are plain - both dishes I thoroughly (normally) enjoy. The taste is boring and flat. Rice and Garlic Naan are both a bit better. That's about it. It's a very nice-looking restaurant. [06 Jul 2004 01:25:23]

Equally Disappointing -- Avoid this Place! We went to this restaurant looking for Indo-Chinese food. We were extremely disappointed and can confirm everything Steve says in his review. The waitstaff is incredibly rude and insulting. They act as if they would prefer that you were not there. The food is generally overcooked and greasy, and the restaurant is quite dirty. We certainly will not be going back, and encourage others to try the many other great Indian restaurants in the bay area before going here! [16 Oct 2005 02:51:48]
