Exceptional Italian faire
No one does a better job of translating traditional Italian cuisine for the California palate like Donna Scala. Dishes like Trenne Pasta with Lamb, Artichokes, Roasted Tomatoes, and Duck Breast,served on Risotto with Apples and Chipoline Onions set her head and shoulders above the rest! Very Disappointing!
My wife and I ate at this restaurant because it had been highly rated, but what a disappointment. The food was mediocre at best, the portion sizes ridiculously small, and the prices much too high in relation to what we received. The service was impersonal and unaccommodating.
My wife and I love Italian food and frequent many different Italian restaurants. This one was one of the most disappointing in a long time. We strongly suggest you try other establishments in the area and skip this one.

Atmosphere excellent, food not so good....
My family made reservations here because of a Napa book recommendation. The restaurant is beautiful. The hostess was rude, the waiter rushed us and was impersonal. The food, well, was just OK. Appetizers were very small. No fresh ground pepper ot fresh grated cheese was offered. The linguini and clam sauce was tasteless as was the penne with duck ragu. My sister had the risotto di fungi which she said was perfect. My husband had a burger which was better then the Italian dishes. Maybe this place is okay for lunch, but not for a great expectations, unforgettable dinner. The desserts were also better then the Italian. This was our first time in Napa and we will never eat here on future visits. [01 May 2007 16:21:44]
