Great Date Place
I have been to Sopa many times over the past two years, plus I chose this place for my birthday dinner and my husband and I picked it for our anniversary dinner. We took some family on the birthday dinner trip who were new to Thai food, and they loved it! It has a terrific ambiance and a lovely outside dining area. We like to go with friends; everyone orders something different, and we pass the dishes around to sample everything. The service has always been exceptional, and one waiter in particular has been great. We live part-time in Nevada County and part-time in San Francisco, and it is true that there are places that are more authentic, but this is a great romantic place with great food, and that is why I recommend it for a date or special occasion, or for people new to Thai. Recently at one of our "authentic" favorite places, we found them putting our leftover rice back into the main rice bowl to serve to new customers . . . we won't be going back there!
