Best Deli in LA area. Closest you can get to a NY deli without flying. Great corned beef, pastrami, stuffed cabbage, cabbage soup. Their rye bread is great. Large portions. [17 May 2003 00:52:20]

Worst Deli I have Ever Been to The food was terrible and the service even worse. I went to return an item because it was wrong and the owner yelled at me. What great customer service. I will never return there again and will tell all of my friends to never go there either. [28 Jun 2003 20:26:21]

Worst Customer service and delivery service I just had the worst experience with the management and staff. I ordered lunch for me and some coworkers at 11:15am they said it would be 1/2 hour by 1:00pm I called and spoke with a lady and she put me on hold and said it's on truck or in the car it will be there soon. By 2pm I called again and spoke with a mgr then to the sup. and they said my order was ordered. I told them I would like it ordered and it should be for free because of us waiting to take lunch till it arrived, he said I was lying to get free food. I told him our company is a regular customer and he was rude and said I was at fault and lying and why would his staff do something like that. I WANTED TO SCREAM, I WILL NEVER CALL THEM AGAIN. Brent's Deli Rules! We love Brent's...one of the few things we miss about not living in SoCal anymore. Great food (except the potato skins), great service...even the bus staff. The Peskind family does a terrific job. Generous portions...leftovers a distinct possibility! [25 Apr 2004 18:42:29]

THE best, hands down... Simply the best and I've been to all of the delis in the greater LA area. This is my favorite restaurant (let alone deli) hands down (I'm there twice a week). Their HUGE sandwiches melt in your mouth (that is if you can get your mouth around one), unbelievable omelets (you have to see how much food they give you) and wait till you see the dessert cakes, one slice is about a foot high (not exaggerating). Tends to be very crowded and a little pricey, but hey, the food is to die for!! [13 Aug 2006 14:10:06]

Worth the drive There is nothing like it in Northern Calif; when we are in SoCal, this is where we go. Very close to NYC (and that is a high compliment from an old Brooklyn boy).
Yes, there are often long lines, but there is a reason for them. The food is worth the drive and the wait.
BTW, never had a problem with service in 15+ years of eating there, so not too sure what the other posters are referring to. [10 Mar 2007 14:02:19]
